Onigiri (Rice Balls)

Who doesn’t love an onigiri? Perfect for on-the-go, lunchboxes, or a quick snack any time of day. There’s a reason heading straight to the konbini for an onigiri is a must the moment you land in Japan, they’re just that good.

The best part about making them at home? You can fill them with whatever flavours you love: yuzu tuna mayo, bonito flakes with soy sauce, umeboshi, teriyaki chicken, flaked salmon…the options are endless. Easy to make, easy to eat, always satisfying.

What’s your go-to onigiri filling?
