Forges Farm – Packing Prosecco

When I grow up, I want to be Graham Forge.

As part of the High Country Harvest, The Forge Family are offering an authentic farm gate experience with a twist. Learn the lost art of packing a horse, whilst sampling the region’s finest produce; featuring Dal Zottos Prosecco and Milawa Cheese.

The experience includes riding a horse down to the banks of the King River, where a beautifully style picnic by Tup Forge awaits. (Tup, you rockstar!)

I’ve never ridden a horse before, and found the whole experience extremely relaxing and fun. I had the reins in one hand, and my camera in the other. My horse’s name was George, but I called him Constanza 😛

At $60, it’s well worth every penny. You won’t want to get off the horse, although endless Prosecco and Milawa cheese does seem to do the trick!

You can stay at Forge’s Farm for $80 a night, or in the nearby city of Wangaratta

What fun! I love Milawa Cheese and we went there for lunch (and cheese buying) at least once a month when I lived up there. I’d love that horse ride!
