Meatball & Wine Bar

Right.

Let’s face it.

You know I love my meatballs.

Plenty of you have even called me the meatball queen.

So how would I find the balls of meat at The Meatball and Wine Bar?

Oh my gawd… these are some of the best meatballs…. seriously. And thank goodness, because a place that has it’s signature dish as the name of its restaurant better be damn good…. unlike a laksa place we have all read about before.

I seriously couldn’t fault anything here. But that’s what you get when you source top quality ingredients; 100% pasture fed black Angus beef from O’Connor in Victoria, brioche from Brasserie Bread, pork from Black Berkshire pigs, chicken from Lilydale… you get the picture.

The chicken meatballs are seasoned with pistachio, muscatels and parmesan, and were by far my favourite of the night… even though the pork and beef were amazeballs!

The pasta was rolled and cooked to perfection. The white sauce was the perfect accompaniment.

The pork balls are seasoned with fennel, safe and orange. They have a lovely aroma and work so well with the polenta.

Dessert is a must, if you can possibly fit it in. Choose between a macaron shell flavour (coffee, pistachio, berry or chocolate)and choose a home made ice-cream flavour to go in between it (coffee, burnt orange, vanilla or chocolate).

I recommend pistachio shells with chocolate ice-cream. Yummm!

I can’t wait to go back for more. I’ve heard really good things about the fish balls.

Takeaway is available. I wish I worked closer I know I’d be surviving on meatballs.

Oh and its’ just a few doors down from Chin Chin, so you should definitely hit this place up if you don’t want to die of starvation waiting for a table there 😛 But you should also make this your sole destination as well… it’s REALLY REALLY good!

Iron Chef Shellie dined as a guest of the Meatball and Wine Bar thanks to Zilla and Brook.

The meatballs are indeed good. I still think your Jamie’s meatballs are up there with the best of them.
