Tori Katsu Sando (Chicken Katsu Sandwich)

I’m a total katsu sando fiend, and a homemade one? Immediate yes. 10/10 would make again (probably tomorrow).

This blog post is part of my special series to journal the Umai cookbook, from cover to cover :)

I didn’t just want to make this, I needed to. I’m a full-blown katsu sando addict. There’s something about that crunchy, juicy chicken wedged between soft white bread that has an actual hold on me. I’ve bought waaaaay too many at konbinis in Japan, from pork, menchi to ebi (prawn), I love them all. This recipe? Absolute winner. Simple, delicious, and dangerously easy to justify making again tomorrow. Highly recommend, just don’t ask me to share.

Whilst there are a few bakeries in Melbourne that do fresh shokupan, I bought these from the freezer section at Hinoki Pantry so that I could make the sandos whenever I had time.
