LuxBite – The Summer Collection

If you are on a strict diet, look away….

I was luckily enough to be one of the lucky tweeters when the call for people to sample the new desserts from my favourite place in town went out. Along with other passionate foodies, we indulged in the latest creations from super couple Bernard and Yen at LuxBite.

We started off with a new drink on the menu, something different to your normal lemonade, but rather quite delicious! Yen mentioned there will be mint leaves in this drink in the future, and I think that will work really well.

Then it was onto the macarons! The inspiration was a colour pencil box that we all had growing up. There are 8 new flavours to the existing flavours on the menu, and they include: bamboo & oolong tea, , cafe latte, green tea & pistachio, pandan, Ribena lemonade,  peach & apricot cocktail, sour strawberry and banana. There is also a new peanut butter & jelly, and a new passionfruit.

Fresh Mango, Passionfruit, Creme Patissier Base with Baby Coriander

Mascarpone and Creme Patissier Base with Fresh Blueberries or Raspberries

Triflova (Gluten Free)

Meringue, macadamia nuts, passionfruit, mango and baby coriander.

This may possibly have the addition of shaved coconut on top. A hit amongst Bernard and Yen’s friends, one even named it ‘Triflova’ = trifle + pavlova. A celebration to their first Christmas in Australia <3

Christmas Trifle

Rose panacotta, raspberry, lychee jelly, white chocolate sponge and marscapone

Coconut panacotta with passionfruit – flavours may change from what we sampled

Overall the summer collection is really light and tropical. The Triflova most likely my favourite and I’m not a fan of trifle. The heaviest item we sampled was the Supersized Love, but the great variety on offer is bound to keep everyone happy.

Items we didn’t get to see and taste were a gingerbread man cheesecake and the chocolate trifle, so I’ll be in to try those soon I hope!

Well done Bernard and Yen, you have really outdone yourselves!
