WBC Bircher

WBC; could it be the World’s Best Cereal? It’s a big call to make, so my expectations were high.

WBC The Real Cereal Company offers two varieties of super healthy cereals; Power Packed Cereal and Natural Juicy Cereal Bircher.

I first had my encounter with bircher muesli around this time last year when I made it myself. I found it was a great way to start the day, and something I would like to make more often. The WBC bircher however, doesn’t use rolled oats. It uses rolled rice instead, so it’s high in fibre, good fats and protein. The best part; there is no added sugar and it’s 100% gluten free.

Looks good doesn’t it? It hasn’t even been soaked in juice yet.

So what’s all that stuff in the bowl I hear some of you asking:

  • Uncooked rolled rice is gluten free, low allergy, and is a great source of grain-based carbohydrates.
  • Almonds, walnuts, pepitas and sunflower seeds deliver a good source of vitamins, protein and crunchy goodness.
  • Cranberries, coconut and sultanas add a natural sweet treat that tantalise the taste buds.

The best way to serve the the cereal is to soak it in fruit juice (I chose apple juice), with fresh fruits (I used grated apple, fresh nectarine, fresh mango and tinned mandarin segments) 8-12 hours (overnight). Then scoop on some natural yoghurt just before serving.

I just loved how healthy it felt whilst eating it. It just made for a great start to the day. The combination of fresh fruit and yoghurt, teamed with the crunchiness of the seeds, and nuts was just fantastic. It made me fill full until lunch time no doubt at all. I’m usually one to snack with my morning cuppa, but didn’t need or want to after having this for breakfast. The best part was, you can make a big batch of cereal, and keep it in the fridge for up to 5 days. So breakie just got even easier, which is good for me, as I can get really lazy when it comes to having a good breakfast.

Just looking at this photo makes me want to have a bowl….

Dr Damian Kristof, health visionary, naturopath and chiropractor says; β€œWe’ve taken the wonderful delights of almonds, pepitas, sunflower seeds and cranberries found in the original WBC, and added a new blend of walnuts, coconut, sultanas and rolled rice into the mix to produce a flavoursome cereal that’s an omega packed, high protein and higher in carbohydrate blend. I’ve chosen to use a rolled rice instead of oats to ensure WBC Bircher is gluten free.”

So, have I tempted you to try it yet?

I do think this is quite possibly, the World’s Best Cereal. I look forward to getting up and having breakfast now, instead of always going for the unhealthy options I sometimes have lying around. tsk tsk Shellie…. shame on you.

WBC Bircher is available online at www.worldsbestcereal.com or from selected health food stores, health practioners and independent supermarkets nationally.

Prices start at RRP $13.95 for 500g or RRP $23.95 for 1kg bag, for a longer lasting energy source. I’ll be ordering myself a massive bag soon!

If you have time, check out the poo chart on their website.

wow, that looks amazing. I’m always looking for something to will keep me full of energy all morning long. There’s nothing worse than forcing myself to eat breaky at 6am, starting work at 7, getting my first hunger pains by 8am and then watching the clock til whenever I next get a break. Will be making a purchase ASAP!

When I was 17, I used to soak my muesli in grapefruit juice. I thought I was pretty weird. πŸ˜›

Hmm, I must say I’ve always been more of a granola girl, but this does look remarkably tasty! Love the additions of the nuts and seeds πŸ™‚

Sounds like I’d better get on out there and buy me some of this WBC…, I adore bircher mueslie but I tend to keep going back for another at lunch time & before I know it, its all gone. Maybe if I just soaked a bowl overnight, one at a time. Mmmm, has merit don’t you think??!! πŸ™‚

I love the bright packaging! πŸ™‚ And interesting to see rolled rice is an interesting change to rolled oats and great for gluten intolerances! Maay have to give this a go, although I am very fond of my Carmen’s museli…

This looks delicious. I like cereals with lots of “bits” if that makes sense.

Calling something “world’s best” fills me with scepticism, but this actually looks like damn good cereal.

Also, poo chart? Ha! Poor old No. 7.. “out of control”.. yeesh.

I love muesli/granola, but have had too much of it lately, so I am into my PB on toast stage. I will have to keep an eye out for this though when I revert back.
